The “Effi’Kaz” energy and thermal assessment
The Effi’Kaz energy and thermal assessment is a programme set up by Énergies Réunion, with the support of the Réunion Region, to help households in Reunion Island improve the energy performance of their homes. Carried out by our MDE Housing department technicians, this assessment identifies areas for improvement to reduce energy consumption and increase the thermal comfort of homes.

How does the Effi’Kaz assessment work?
The assessment process involves several key steps:
Preparing the audit: the householder provides the plans of their home and their last two energy bills so that the technician can get an overview of current consumption.
On-site visit: a technician visits the home to collect the necessary data (equipment, building quality, consumption habits).
Data entry: the information collected is then entered into a specific assessment tool that models the home’s energy consumption.
Assessment of potential savings: based on the data analysed, the main levers for saving energy are identified and prioritised.
Recommended works: finally, concrete works are recommended, whether thermal improvements (insulation, windows), equipment optimisation or renewable energy installations.
