Since September 2023, Énergies Réunion has been carrying out, on behalf of the Réunion Region and the Territoire de l’Ouest, an opportunity and pre-figuration study for a technology platform supporting businesses and research in the energy sector in Reunion Island.
This project, currently called the “energy platform”, is a multidisciplinary, multi-partner Research & Development & Innovation tool, with the following objectives:
- To bring together energy topics in Reunion Island collectively,
- To encourage the transfer of knowledge and technology,
- To help projects, including innovative ones, reach the market.
The technology building blocks it would address are part of the major energy themes: renewable energy production and storage, energy demand management, energy efficiency and security of energy supply.
The expected outline of this platform is a building complex made up of technical platforms and flexible workspaces, housing research equipment, demonstrators, test benches, offices, study rooms and conference rooms. Its activities would focus on research, training, pooling of resources and business support.
